Bicycle tour around Hoi An

Just 4 km outside Hoi An is the long streching
beach of Cua Dai

The best way to get there is by bike,
which you borrow from the hotel

Rice fields just outside the city

Temple bus on the way

Seller on her way to work

Photo shooting brake

Cows are also by the road

as are these beautiful ponds with flowers

and a river with fishing-boats

some fish ponds

work in progress

And very nice fresh beer.

Ancient My Son

Remains of Cham people´s settlement

Our guide was concentrating on explaining
the importance of feminine and masculine
power worship during that time...

Before you enter the main Worship hall
you go to the Meditation hall

Columns of the Central hall were destroyed  by a bomb

some decorations are still to see

The "Monkey" group (the guide had  named
our group, to make it easier for him)
is trying to follow the guide's explanations

Simple, but good lunch on the boat, taking us bck

with a Chinese entertainer

Wonderful Hoi An

What a first meeting with the city! A beautiful sunset by the river...

and a nice fruit seller... always discuss the price -
they try at least with 5 times more in the beginning!
Laterns in different shapes and forms -
they make this city, during day and night...

Silent morning walk - before the tourists come :-)

Some cleaning by the pagoda

some simple breakfast

Sunrise behind the clouds

Some transport of goods

All houses in town must be painted yellow

It has it´s charm, when you see the result.

Signs and doors must be in wood and old style

Probably white is acceptable too/
Morning exercise - while sitting

in one of the back street's yard

some houses need big investments

To keep the walls clean, they put on plastic - clever solution!

Japanese covered bridge - the famous one!

Cham Towers Pagoda

Nha Trang city  from another side of the river

Entrance to the Pagoda with steep steps,
which you do not need to climb, if you are not religious.

During this week they even had folklore dances
and handicraft workshops outside the Pagoda

What happened when I left my man for a few minutes?
Yes, all girls wanted to have a picture with him :-)

Landmark of Nha Trang - Po Nagar Cham Towers

The way to come up to or go down from
the Pagoda

and the snake decoration was there too...

Drinking Mango lassi and waiting for the "Ganesh" special Panir -
the  evening of one more nice day ends with Indian food...
